Raising funds for Rwanda

MEADOW VALE SUPPORTING RWANDA

On Monday 10th July, Sam from Sandhurst School visited Meadow Vale to talk to the children about the Rwandan Charity SURF.  We watched a film which told us all about the lives of children living in Rwanda which is a tiny country in central Africa.  The film included footage of Miss Chunn from Meadow Vale who visited our sponsored children and their village in Rwanda in February.  She took donated gifts for the children in the village, including shoes, clothing, sweets, toys and stationery items. We even got to see inside the village school when Miss Chunn was delivering letters written by children at Meadow Vale!

It was a lovely surprise when we were able to present Sam with a cheque for £1,468.02! The money was raised in a variety of ways, including a penny run and an international week organised by Mrs Qureshi.  Sam was overwhelmed with the cheque and said it will really help to change the lives of children in Rwanda; she will be visiting Rwanda in August and will tell them all about our fundraising.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to this great cause.
